Behind the scenes, too.

01 / Infrastructure

Networks nobody thinks about. Which is the point.

Most business networks were never designed. They accreted: a router from the broadband provider, a switch from Amazon when the ports ran out, a Wi-Fi extender behind the printer, and nobody quite sure which cable does what. It works, mostly, until the day it matters.

What we do

  • Network design and build: switching, routing, segmentation, and Wi-Fi that reaches where you actually work.
  • Site-to-site VPNs: premises connected to each other, to partners, and to the people working away from them.
  • Servers and cloud: on the premises, in the cloud, or honestly assessed as to which, and why.
  • Documentation, always: every build is handed over with as-built documentation a stranger could work from.

The same standard applies to high-performance home networks and smart-system integration, where a property needs it.

Where we work

This is the physical side of 1NM: cabinets, cables and buildings. We are based in Warwickshire and work on site across the county and the West Midlands, including Coventry and Birmingham. Further afield is a conversation, not a refusal.

How it starts

A call, then a visit. We look at what you actually have, tell you plainly where it stands, and leave you a one-page account of what we found and what we would do about it, in priority order. That costs nothing. The work that follows is quoted as a fixed price in writing, and hardware is always at cost, stated separately.

Storage, logistics and events. Two UK sites, around 10,000 pallet spaces.

The contract depended on a network that didn't exist yet

A German manufacturer wanted to run its European distribution from a Coventry warehouse, connected to its own SAP system back home. The specification was sound. There was nobody on this side who could read it.

02 / Security reviews

Find out where you stand. Before someone else does.

The security industry sells fear by the day rate. Most businesses respond the only sensible way: they ignore all of it, because they cannot tell the real risks from the theatre. Some of it is real, and the difference is precisely what nobody selling to you will say plainly.

What a review is

A fixed-scope examination of what you actually have: your website and its software, your DNS and email authentication, your exposure as an attacker would map it, and the governance around who can change what. It ends in a written report with a plain verdict and a prioritised list: what is urgent, what can wait, and what you are being oversold elsewhere.

The recommendation is honest even when it is unprofitable. Our flagship review found a critical, actively exploited flaw on a live site, closed it, and then recommended against the expensive rebuild the client had assumed they needed.

What it costs

The first look is free: a short call, the top-line risks, one page. The full review is quoted in writing before it starts, because its report is the product. Remediation, if any is needed, is quoted separately, and we are equally content if your own people do it with our list in hand.

The rebuild we talked them out of

An informal favour that turned up a critical, actively exploited vulnerability on a live site. The audit's main recommendation was to spend less, not more.

03 / Microsoft 365 and identity

The boring things that have to work.

Email, accounts, calendars, files. Nobody starts a business to think about any of it, so it accumulates instead: one shared password that everyone knows, a mailbox that three people live out of, files on whichever laptop was nearest. It all works, right up until someone leaves, or something arrives that should never have got in.

What we do

  • Microsoft 365, set up properly the first time, or untangled, if the first time already happened.
  • Mailboxes with boundaries: one person, one account; shared mailboxes where sharing is actually wanted; leavers who leave without taking access with them.
  • Email that authenticates: SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured so your invoices arrive, and so nobody else can send as you. How that works.
  • Identity and access that scale: permissions that still make sense at fifteen people, decided when you were five.

How it starts

A look at the tenant and the mail flow, and a one-page account of where it stands, free. The work that follows is quoted as a fixed price before it starts.

A workshop business of around twenty people, growing quickly.

A business growing faster than its IT

A workshop business growing faster than expected, with twenty people in it and an IT estate that amounted to a laptop and an email account. Three jobs across the summer, each of which started as a small request.
